any how went to a home and garden show today and the solar place had a sheet for a 2k system and it was reasonble cheap. so i did my math and got a huge amount. searched some more and found this one. pretty neat.
heres what i'd need to go 100%
Solar Radiance: 4.51 kWh/sq m/day
Avg. Monthly Usage: 2,000 kWh/month
System Size: 18.41 kW
Roof Size: 1,841 sq ft
Estimated Cost: $165,666.16
then if you click on "savings"
Estimated Cost: $165,666.16
Post Incentive Cost: $108,992.98
Avg. Monthly Savings: $175.60
25 Year Savings: $87,756.26
25 Year ROI: 80.52%
Break Even: 28.59 years
i found this info pretty eye opening not only that the price was pretty high, and the roi long term but i'd need so much roof space. i looked at old bills since we have guest so cutting back and watching now and cutting back is hard. i think once i get on wood heat i'll see a drop and also i think i'm going solar water before all electric.
