Excellent. Still not convinced pertoleum is a national security issue, national economic issue yes, but not sure on the security.

I still think right now BioDiesel is by far the most realistic alternative, in the future there will be others, but BioD is here now, works now, and there is little to no mods required to use it in most diesel vehicles.

The way I see it, people in general resist change. Most alternatives to oil are new and require change. Society will have great difficulty giving up on/letting go of the internal combustion engine. BioD is the only option that is cleaner and requires the least change. (still internal combustion and familar to most) If/when the technology exists to mass produce bio at the level that it could be in every station in the country, the masses would be blissfully unaware there was a difference.
2 big things need to happen to get to that point. A better source for vegi/bio oil needs to be found, and the gel-ing issue of B100 needs to be solved. I believe if the supply was there, science could quickly solve the gel issue.
WVO supply will never be able to keep up with fuel demands. A better source of base oil needs to be found. Algae is promising. I also like the idea of retrieving oil from biological waste such as feed animal waste and the animals own waste. Technology holds the answer and with enough $$ it will come.

The work being done with Algaes is really promising, and from what I have read the algae cell is 1/2 Lipids(veggy oil), and the rest could be used with some of the cellulosic pocesses under development. The technology exists to refined oil into BioD in large quantities, there just aren't many refineries YET.

BioD is the only realistic bridge from what we have to what we may go to. Plus with BioD you can still have a lifted, bombed, compound turbo, 500 hp diesel tow rig, AND be green(ish).

The owner of Dino Fuel Alternatives(the makers of the vegistroke for powerstrokes) runs straight veggy oil. Of course this requires even LESS work cause you don't need to process/refine it.

And he runs his hard.
